(AUDIO) CARLY PEARCE OFFERS A MESSAGE OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE CLASS OF 2020

This is the time of year when high school seniors everywhere would be celebrating their graduation, but unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic cancelled most graduation ceremonies and other celebrations, which, of course, has been devastating for the Class of 2020.  Carly Pearce, whose song “I Hope You’re Happy Now” is in the top five and creeping toward number one, wanted to share a message with this year’s graduates congratulating them on such a huge accomplishment, but also encouraging them not to get too discouraged.

“I know that high school isn’t easy and getting here is a huge deal,” said Carly. “I also know that this is probably the last way that you thought you would be graduating, and I know it’s gotta be difficult. I know that it’s missing out on a lot of things. I know that it’s a lot of confusion and a lot of sadness, but I am here to tell you that it won’t last forever. You’re going to have so many amazing memories to look forward to in the next four years as you figure out what you’re gonna be doing and going to college and meeting new people.”

Carly has another song on her self-titled album that has a perfect sentiment for this time, called “It Won’t Always Be Like This,” and with that sentiment in mind, she encouraged the Class of 2020 to, “Hang onto all of the memories that you have in high school and know that it is a large world with lots more memories coming. So congratulations! Hope to see you all on the road sometime at a show.”

Carly would have been touring with Old Dominion this summer, but the We Are Old Dominion Tour, like so many others, has been cancelled.  So, no word on how, when or if Carly will be able to get in any shows this year.
