Florida Georgia Line closed out the 2010 decade with three of the top five songs of the decade belonging to them – #1 “Meant to Be,” #3 “Cruise” and #5 “H.O.L.Y.”. The rankings were based on streaming numbers, radio airplay and sales, and it’s pretty incredible when you consider Brian and Tyler didn’t even release their first single, “Cruise,” until 2012, so they really accomplished all of that in seven and a half years, and Tyler says it doesn’t make them nervous about trying to live up to their previous success. “It just continues to inspire us and push us and motivate us. And we don’t really put tons of pressure on ourselves. We just want to record the best album that we can with every album, and I feel like that’s what we’ve done.”
BK and Tyler started out as songwriters, and Tyler says, “We continue to try to surround ourself with great songwriters, and try to master the craft of songwriting as well, and always continue to work on that. So, just doing that alone has helped us continue to push and make better and better music, and hopefully music that the fans can relate to and connect with.”
BK and Tyler co-wrote their current single, “Blessings,” for their Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Album, with Tom Douglas, Jesse Frasure, Jordan Schmidt and Ernest K. Smith.
