Florida Georgia Line had a huge year in 2017, with their wildly successful Smooth Tour and the release of a lot of great music, including their #1 song “God, Your Mama and Me,” as well as collaborations with The Chainsmokers (“Last Day Alive”), Hailee Steinfeld (“Let Me Go”) and “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha, which debuted at #1 on the Country Hot 100 chart. Looking back on the year, if Brian Kelley had to pick their biggest pinch me moment, he says, “That’s really tough to say. I’d say it’s selling out Wrigley or Fenway with the Backstreet Boys and Nelly. That was pretty ridiculous. You know that was an idea that Tyler and I had cooked up and we thought everybody would think we were crazy and we kind of pulled it off.”
When they think about the tour and all the outside-the-box collaborations they got to be a part of, Brian Kelley says, “It’s a good reminder that these ideas that come to your mind and you get here and there, you know, they’re not stupid you just got to take a chance and maybe move to Nashville or maybe ask the Backstreet Boys to get on a song with you. But good things happen when you take a chance and have a positive attitude.”
Florida Georgia Line is currently working on their fourth album, which they’ll be releasing in 2018.
