Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley grew up in Ormond Beach, Florida, and it’s where he feels most like himself, which is why he and his wife Brittney relocated their main residence down near the Gulf Coast of Florida a few years ago. Now that they live full-time at the beach, BK was able to fulfill his life-long dream of owning a big boat and christening it with the name of his choice. “Me and Brittney, we bought a big boat in January. And that was my dream,” he says. He would often tell his wife, “Babe, one of these days I’m gonna make your name one of them boat names.”
BK has always been fascinated with the names people choose for their boats. “I love boat names. I think boat names tell a lot about the person in the boat, and they tell so many stories,” he says. “They’re so unique and they’re just so intriguing.”
At the end of 2020 Brian realized his dream of owning a big boat and naming it after his wife. “I was like, ‘Babe, I think I found us a boat that checks off everything on our list.’ I was like, ‘That’s the Brittney Marie right there.’”
The Brittney Marie is a 56’ Sunny Briggs sport fishing boat that even has its own Instagram page @brittneymarietheboat.
