Lady Antebellum just released their brand new single, “Champagne Night,” which was the result of their appearance on the NBC show, Songland. The song was written by hopeful songwriter Madeline Merlo, who collaborated with Shane McAnally on the show, and Hillary Scott says, “What I love so much about ‘Champagne Night’ is just how the song makes me feel. It’s just so happy and fun and makes me just want to have a great time with people I love.”
Hillary also loves the idea of being able to pay it forward to a young, aspiring songwriter, since Lady Antebellum started out as writers before they formed the band. Hillary says, “I love the story of this song I love that Madeline Merlo got this big, huge chance to come on Songland and work with Shane McAnally, and that now we’re all celebrating the fact that this song got such a great response by the fans that it had to be the single. And so I couldn’t be more excited for Madeline as an up and coming songwriter, and I just know that this is the first of many for her.”
“Champagne Night” is not on Lady Antebellum’s latest album, Ocean, which was released in November, but the fan response when it was released as a digital single, after their episode of Songland aired, was too undeniable to not give the fans what they wanted, which was “Champagne Night” as their next single.
