A year after Thomas Rhett signed his record deal in 2011, he and his wife, Lauren, got married, which means for most of their marriage, she has been by his side, supporting him, encouraging him and cheering him on as he has been living out his dream. While Thomas has been pursuing his music career, Lauren has been pursuing her passion of supporting the non-profit organization Love One International, which provides access to life-saving medical care for children in Uganda, the country from which they adopted their oldest daughter, Willa Gray.
It brings Thomas great joy now to be able to support Lauren’s dreams because he says, “In any relationship when your spouse, or whatever, is passionate about something you feel that differently. You know what I mean? And you want to do everything in your complete power to make sure that that passion comes to fruition.”
As a husband and a celebrity, Thomas has been able to support his wife’s efforts to raise money and awareness for Love One, and he says, “It’s really, really cool now that we can… even though she’s not in the music business, she kinda is in a way. And even though I’m not in the Love One business or the philanthropic business, I am in a way because we both are partners and [a] team, and that’s been really cool just to kind of look back on our marriage and go, I feel like we’ve done a good job at really just supporting each other and encouraging each other.”
Thomas will kick off his Center Point Road Tour on April 24th, and by then he’ll likely have another #1 song in his set list, since his latest single, “Beer Can’t Fix,” with Jon Pardi is in the top 20 on the charts and climbing fast.
