Thomas Rhett’s life changed drastically this year, with the adoption of his two-year old daughter Willa Gray from Uganda in May, and the birth of his daughter Ada James three months ago. While Willa is still too young to truly understand what Thanksgiving is all about, Thomas says, “I think once she gets to the age where she starts to ask questions like, ‘Where am I legitimately from? What kind of holidays do they celebrate in Uganda?’ I would love to start incorporating a ton of her culture into our lifestyle because, you know, we’re celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas and Fourth of July. And when she starts asking those questions, I would love for her to start knowing and learning about her culture as well.”
In the meantime, Thomas, who just released his new single, “Marry Me,” and his wife Lauren will certainly be giving thanks for the blessing of their baby girls, although they’ll have to wait to sit down and celebrate as a family, since Thomas will be playing the halftime show of the Dallas Cowboys / Los Angeles Chargers Thanksgiving Day game to help kick off the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. You’ll be able to see his performance on Thursday on CBS.
