(AUDIO) Rascal Flatts Are Re-Energized To Sing Their Hits On Tour

Rascal Flatts will kick off their Riot Tour, named after their current single, this Friday, May 29th. The guys admit that at the end of a tour, after singing their catalog of hits for 50 or 60 nights, they can start to feel a little burnt out on the songs. Jay DeMarcus says, “It’s sort of a blessing and a curse to have so many songs that people expect to hear every night, ‘cause it kind a limits what you’re able to do with your live show and you can only switch it up and change it up so many different ways. But, when I stop and think about it when we’re off the road, I actually miss playing those songs ‘cause they’ve been such a big part of people’s lives. And so it’s pretty cool to have to have certain songs that you have to play every night.”

The guys are feeling refreshed and ready to sing their hits on this new tour. Jay says, “That’s what we all hope and dream to do when we stand in front of the mirror with our ‘Goody’ comb and sing into it, is to have a bunch of songs that have touched people so much that they want to hear ‘em every night.” And he says, “I’m very honored and humbled by the fact that we’ve been able to do that in our careers.”

Jay DeMarcus – “I’ve thought about that a lot. It’s sort of a blessing and a curse to have so many songs that people expect to hear every night, ‘cause it kind a limits what you’re able to do with your live show and you can only switch it up and change it up so many different ways. But, when I stop and think about it when we’re off the road, I actually miss playing those songs ‘cause they’ve been such a big part of people’s lives. And so it’s pretty cool to have to have certain songs that you have to play every night. That’s what we all hope and dream to do when we stand in front of the mirror with our ‘Goody’ comb and sing into it, is to have a bunch of songs that have touched people so much that they want to hear ‘em every night. So, while it does, fifty shows in, get old singing God bless the frickin’ broken road, I’m so happy that we have that song to do it, and I’m so thrilled that people care enough to wanna pay money to see us sing that every year. So, I’m very honored and humbled by the fact that we’ve been able to do that in our careers.”
