(AUDIO) Tim McGraw Explains TOMORROWLAND Character

Tim McGraw is in the new Disney movie, Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney, which is in theaters now, and he explains, “I play Eddie Newton. He’s a NASA engineer and he’s been involved in building the space program and now he’s involved in sort of having to dismantle the space program. He’s trying to figure out where his life’s gonna go and what he’s gonna do and he’s sort of having to deal with the idea of doing that – building this program up and then having to tear it down and it going away.”

One of the stars of the movie is Britt Robertson, who plays Tim’s character’s daughter, Casey Newton, and Tim explains, “(She’s) very curious and she’s very scientific and she’s trying to deal with the same things and the same issues and she can’t understand why her dad’s not fighting harder, and he’s just trying to put food on the table and trying to sort of figure his own self out. It’s just a really cool character to play.”

While Tim loves acting and is constantly reading scripts, his first priority is his music, including his latest single, “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools,” off his Shotgun Rider album, which he has been recording the follow up to recently.
