Tim McGraw recently teamed with the American Diabetes Association and Merck to be a voice for America’s Diabetes Challenge. While Tim personally doesn’t have diabetes, he says, “I think that when you look at the landscape and you see that 30 million Americans are living with diabetes every day it’s easy to see how all of us in some form or another, whether it be through our family or through our extended friend network, and certainly in my case, through my fans all across the country, we’re touched by it in some way.”
The goal of the challenge is to help encourage those living with diabetes to take control of their health with the help of their doctor, to make sure they are keeping the disease in check. Tim says, “I’ve teamed up with The American Diabetes Association to spread the word and what we’re askin’ people to do is go to americasdiabeteschallenge.com and take the pledge, with their physician, to find and reach their A1C goal.”
In addition to promoting America’s Diabetes Challenge, Tim just launched his Shotgun Rider Tour, which will run through mid-September. He’s also continuing to promote his latest single, “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools,” which is in the top ten and still climbing.
