Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line didn’t write their latest single, “Anything Goes,” but when they do write songs, they’ve made it a policy to always write together. Brian Kelley explains the decision to always write together was a decision they made when they first started working with their producer, Joey Moi. He says, “Right when we got in the studio with him that was somethin’ that we just learned and thought of early on. He’d given us some advice and we just said we’re gonna keep it in house, keep it together, and it’s worked really well.”
Plus, Tyler says it just makes sense for them to always write together. “Our life, every day, is pretty much together … our schedule’s identical so it really works.”
If there are days when one of the guys is in the mood to write but the other isn’t, Tyler says it’s not a big deal. “We’re like, hey cool, I’ll just take the day and not write, that sounds great, or vice versa. It works out great, and honestly as a duo, that’s part of being a duo for us. So, it’s important.”
Florida Georgia Line has been writing for their next album, which they plan to begin recording when they wrap up their Anything Goes Tour in October.
