Brantley Gilbert is a huge supporter of our military, he even spotlights a fallen soldier in his new song, “One Hell of an Amen.” One experience that Brantley says was life-changing was getting to go overseas to perform for our troops on a USO tour. He says, “The USO experience is like … you really can’t understand it until you go do it. Because I had a lot of people tell me, ‘Oh man, it’s gonna change your life. You’re gonna see some things that you’ve never seen before.” And it’s just, it’s hard to explain.”
There are so many things that Brantley will never forget about his time on the USO tour, but he says, “One of the craziest things about it was that our troops were so appreciative that we were over there. It was like an honor for us to get to go. We wanted to go for two of three years, but couldn’t ever get the means to get over there and do it. But they were so appreciative that we were bringing a little bit of home to them.”
Brantley definitely hopes to be able to incorporate more USO tours into his schedule in the future.
