Rascal Flatts has had great luck with choosing opening acts, and have even watched some of their opening acts to become big stars, like Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. Recently they’ve had people like RaeLynn, who got her start on The Voice and Scotty McCreery, from American Idol, on tour with them. While they don’t just pick people like that because of their reality show background, Gary LeVox says, “It always helps, for sure. But, we were so blessed to start off being on some great, amazing tours, and comin’ up. So, it’s really, really cool when you take somebody that’s had that much exposure and put ‘em on a big tour and to go out and to just watch them.”
Gary says the fact that some of their opening acts come with a built-in television fan base is a bonus. “It’s cool to be a part of other people’s careers and to give back, you know, as we were given to so early on in our career. So, it definitely helps when they’ve got a big following and a hit. So, that definitely plays a role.”
Rascal Flatts are currently out on their Riot! Tour, which will run through mid-October.

Rascal Flatts – reality show opening acts :38
Gary LeVox – “I mean, it always helps, for sure. But, we were so blessed to start off being on some great, amazing tours, and comin’ up. So, it’s really, really cool when you take somebody that’s had that much exposure and put ‘em on a big tour and to go out and to just watch them. We’ve had a pretty good track record with opening acts that have went on to do great things, like; Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Luke [Bryan], Blake [Shelton]. So, it’s cool to be a part of other people’s careers and to give back, you know, as we were given to so early on in our career. So, it definitely helps when they’ve got a big following and a hit. So, that definitely plays a role.”
