Brantley Gilbert, who just celebrated his latest #1 song with “One Hell of an Amen,” is discovering that he’s becoming more like his dad every day. He says, “Yeah, I see similarities from my dad, and more often it’s people tellin’ me that I’m realizin’. It’s like man, you sound just like your dad.”

Brantley recalls one time where the similarity between him and his dad was pretty comical. “A perfect example is the polar plunge I did. Well, my dad did it right after me, if you look ‘em up, and I said a bad word comin’ out of the water, he said one goin’ in and it was the same cuss word.”

Brantley says his grandmother called his dad (her son) and told him, “‘Well, I seen your video’, he was like, ‘Yeah’. She said, ‘You said a bad word’, he said, ‘Mom, that water was cold’, she said, ‘Well, like father like son, he said one … comin’ out of the water.’ But, that was pretty funny.”

Brantley is spending his summer performing stadium dates with Kenny Chesney on The Big Revival Tour, and also playing some of his own dates in the U.S. and Canada.

Brantley Gilbert is on his tour bus this weekend headed to Detroit to play Ford Field on Kenny Chesney’s “The Big Revival Tour.” Then on Sunday (8/23), Gilbert plays at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.
