Even though Maddie & Tae have been having success with their music, including their #1 debut song, “Girl in a Country Song,” and their current top ten hit, “Fly,” Maddie Marlow admits that she loves the challenge of bargain shopping and seeing if she can save money by making things instead of buying them. “It’s not that I’m a total penny-pincher,” she says. “I’ll spend money on stuff that I love and important stuff, but I love finding a good deal on something, and clipping coupons, actually. Crafting is fun for me too. I love finding cool décor at some store and then going home and making the same exact thing for half price.”
While getting a good bargain can be a bit of an adrenaline rush, Maddie says, saving money by crafting things herself, “(is) really relaxing, actually.”
