(AUDIO) Ronnie Dunn New Year’s Tradition: He Blows Up The Christmas Tree

Over the years Ronnie Dunn has played some of country music’s biggest New Year’s Eve parties, but when it comes to his own way of celebrating the New Year, he’s created somewhat of a “Don’t try this at home,” annual tradition.

It’s something he started doing with his family a few years ago that finalizes Christmas and starts the New Year with a bang. Literally!

Ronnie Dunn – New Year’s tradition :15
“We take our Christmas tree down to the bonfire pit and we tie these mortar fireworks things to the limbs, and light it up, and everybody runs. And ya know, it blows up and explodes and catches on fire. Pretty funny stuff.”
