Tim McGraw is not big on New Year’s resolutions. Instead he prefers to set the daily goal of always doing the best he can, no matter what he has on his agenda for the day. Tim says, “If I get up in the mornin’, and no matter what my project is for that day, whether I’m goin’ to the movie or goin’ to the studio, or goin’ to write a song, or takin’ the kids to school, is to try to do the best I can at it. I can’t think about what the end results gonna be of it.”
Tim believes if he goes into everything with the plan to do his best and he’s successful most of the time then the end result is going to be success. So far his approach seems to be working, with his latest single, “Top of the World” in the top ten, a new movie based on the book The Shack in the works and a TV series for TNT called Robbers in the works.

Tim McGraw – managing goals :38
“Well, I think you set one goal, and that’s to do the best you can. If I get up in the mornin’, and no matter what my project is for that day, whether I’m goin’ to the movie or goin’ to the studio, or goin’ to write a song, or takin’ the kids to school, is to try to do the best I can at it. I can’t think about what the end results gonna be of it. I gotta think about what I’m gonna do when I go in there that day to do it, ‘cause sometimes I know if I’m gonna go sing a song I can spend all day in there and sing and at the end of the day listen back to it and not like anything I’ve done and have to start over the next day, but I’ve got to go do the best I can that day and wrap my mind around it in that way. And if I’m successful most of the days, then the end result is gonna be success.”
