Charles “Chip” Esten plays Deacon Clayborne on ABC’s Nashville, but he says he’s also a fan of the show because of all the other incredibly talented people he gets to work with. A lot of times, Chip will film his scenes but won’t get to see what other characters are filming for their story lines, or get to see their musical performances, and he says, “So, when I’m watching the TV show, I’m watchin’ it just like you guys, except I know my scenes, I know what we shot, and then all of a sudden here comes a song, maybe Aubrey Peeples will sing it, and in that moment I’m a fan. I’m just like, ‘Wow, what a song.’ And I’m also, ‘that’s my friend up there.’ So, on the one hand you’re so super proud of them, and you’re a fan.”
Charles and the rest of the fans of Nashville will get to see new episodes when it returns from its winter hiatus on Wednesday, March 16, on ABC.
