Hank Jr.’s new album is 12 songs deep with lyrics of partying, boogieing, God, and country. And all the songs were either carefully chosen, or written by Bocephus himself.
If you want some idea of what Hank thinks about today’s country music, just listen to the title track, “It’s About Time.” His opinion is expressed as he weaves names from his past through the lyrics, with mentions of Merle, Waylon, Johnny and June, and even Hank’s mom, Audrey Williams.
As with any album, only one song can stand strong enough for the title, and for Hank, this was no-brainer…

“Well, we all settled on that, it puts, well it’s about time for some radio, some label support. Shall we say some music that people might be starved for. And that’s what it’s all about, It’s About Time.”
