Before Reba released her current album, Love Somebody, she promised fans a diversity of songs…happy songs, love songs, drinking songs and anthems. This week she releases a sad, yet healing song. She announced through Twitter that the video for “Just Like Them Horses” comes out this week.
The song means a lot to Reba. So much so, that she sang it at her father’s funeral and dedicated it to her parents through the liner notes on her album.
Songwriters, Liz Hengber and Tommy Lee James wrote it for a friend that was passing away and when Reba heard it, it seemed to fit in her life too…

Reba – just like them horses :22
“I had asked Liz if I could sing it at my daddy’s funeral, because he had been sick and it was inevitable. And she said, ‘Sure, absolutely.’ And when we got into the studio, Tony Brown, my producer said, ‘Oh, my gosh, no, we gotta put this on the album.’ We did it with a complete band and not long after that daddy did pass and we played it at daddy’s funeral.”
