Maddie & Tae are both only 20 years old, but they’ve been writing songs together since they were 15 years old, which has resulted in them having a catalog of over 200 songs they’ve written together. They still write together all the time, but the amount of time they have to write has decreased since they’re out on the road and working so much. But Tae says early on, “Like every day of the week we would write and that’s kind of how we really developed our message and our artistry. So that was a really special time for us cause for a period of like two years we would write every single day.”
Maddie & Tae co-wrote every single on their debut album, including their latest single, “Shut Up and Fish,” which they wrote with Aaron Scherz and Pete Sallis.
