(AUDIO) Florida Georgia Line Love To Mix Up Their Musical Influences

When the guys in Florida Georgia Line were growing up, their musical influences ran the gamut. Brian Kelley grew up listening to a wide variety of genres. He says, “Garth Brooks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alabama, Alan Jackson, even in the Christian world Shane and Shane. Growin’ up we loved them. Lil Wayne, Eminem, in the Hip Hop world.”

He and Tyler Hubbard didn’t care about genres or separating the music. He says, “We both would make mixed tapes where you’d have anything from Kenny Chesney to literally Lil Wayne to a Shane and Shane song or a Casting Crowns song.”

That love of all styles of music has continued into the music they’re making now as Florida Georgia Line. Brian says, “To us, we’re just music lovers. Country to the core, but I mean, music’s always gotta evolve or you’re goin’ backwards.”

You can hear the range of their influences on their Anything Goes album, featuring their latest single, “Confession.”
