Martina McBride posted a video sledding and having fun with 10 year old daughter Ava, and followers quickly started to share and post. For those who’ve followed Martina’s career, they’ve also watched her children grow up. Delaney who was born just after the charting of “Independence Day” is now 21. Emma turns 16 in March.
The superstar has long been a role model for working mothers. From the beginning, the family has been together even through her extensive touring. When the kids were toddlers, she and husband John remodeled their bus so they could take the girls on the road with them. And that set an example for a lot of other artists that followed.
Working on a new album, she hasn’t released many details about it yet, except to say…”It’s quite possibly, my favorite album so far.” Through the years, her girls have been threaded through her music. Delaney inspired the song “Teenage Daughters,” and you can catch a glimpse of the older girls in her video for “This One’s for the Girls,” as well as hear them on backing vocals too. With a projected finish date approaching for her next album, we should know by spring how they’ll show up in her new music.
