Spend a few minutes with Hank Williams Jr. and you’ll learn something about one of his favorite subjects…Civil War History. And what most people don’t know is: That his buddy, Martina McBride lives on a piece of that 1864 battlefield history, and of course he’s been there to check it out.
Hank considers Martina a good friend and said, “I watched her on the Today Show a few years back and they asked her, who is your favorite artist? And she didn’t hesitate a second and said…It’s Hank Williams Jr!” The two are label mates and both have released their first single on Nash Icon Records.
Their friendship goes beyond their professional respect for each other; she even gave him the go ahead to dig for artifacts on her land just outside of Nashville…

Hank Jr – in Martina’s yard :16
“I’ve been in her yard with my metal detector and I’ve dug up Battle of Nashville, 150 year old bullets, and things in the battle, and handed them to her daughter. Yea, it’s all good. In the Hank and Martina camp, it’s all good.”
