(AUDIO) Being a Hank Jr. Fan: It’s Not Just A Southern Thing

When tickets went on sale for Hank Jr.’s summer tour, fans responded! The country icon has teamed up for a co-headling tour with Chris Stapleton.

His fans know that when he comes to town, it may be awhile before he comes back, Hank says, “They know it’s not gonna be ‘We can go see him somewhere else’, because HIM is gonna be fishin’ and HIM is gonna be hunting! They learned that a long time ago.”

Some might think Bocephus has louder fans in the South, but that’s not true. He recalls one show in particular where an Upstate New York crowd surprised even Hank himself…

Hank – surprised by fans in NY :25
“I’ve played almost everywhere, anyway, when we got there, good gosh I walked out on that stage and there’s 20,000 people out there. There’s Rebel flags like 20 of ’em and ‘Don’t tread on mes’ and I though my goodness. They got down in Hunter Mountain, New York. And ya know, I hardly ever go there, and well that one opened my eyes, it was fantastic!”
