Thomas Rhett has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Lauren, for three and a half years, and he says if you want to know what they are like as a couple, all you have to do is watch his video for “Die A Happy Man.” As they were trying to come up with a concept for the video, Thomas and Lauren just happened to have a trip to Hawaii already planned and he says, “The label was like, ‘Would you mind if we sent a couple of video guys along and just capture some footage?’, and I was like, ‘Yeah’. And so my buddy TK, who’s done the last four music videos of mine, it was just him and literally one other guy with a camera and couple of lights, and basically for five days we would just hang out and he was like, ‘Y’all do your thing and we’ll capture moments.”

Thomas says because it was him and his wife being themselves, they were able to just relax and enjoy the process, and he says, “A lot of it was just chillin’ and relaxin’ and just really great content that they captured that I think really represents our marriage and our lifestyle.”

These days, Thomas is watching his latest single, “T-shirt,” steadily climb the charts, currently in the top 20, likely on its way to #1.

“We were just tryin’ to figure out a video concept. We were like, ‘What are we gonna do?’ The obvious thing would be to shoot someone else’s wedding or do somethin’ like that, but we had already planned a trip to Hawaii. We try to go to Hawaii once a year, it’s kind of our spot, and the label was like, ‘Would you mind if we sent a couple of video guys along and just capture some footage?’, and I was like, ‘Yeah’.
