(AUDIO) Rascal Flatts’ ‘I Like The Sound of That’ Is A Shot In the Arm

Rascal Flatts’ latest single, “I Like the Sound of That,” is off their Rewind album, which they released in May of 2014. Joe Don Rooney says, “It’s crazy ‘cause this album’s been out for a couple a years, but it’s like the album won’t stop. We keep on goin’ back to the drawin’ board and goin’, ‘what else can we put out that might work.’”

“I Like the Sound of That,” seems to be working quite well, considering it is this close to becoming Rascal Flatts’ next #1 song. Joe Don says, “We knew it had to be heard at some point, it just, it was the perfect timing for, I think, the perfect song to kind of rejuvenate Rascal Flatts a little bit. A little shot in the arm when we needed it, honestly. The fans have not stopped, country radio hasn’t stopped, it’s incredible.”

Rascal Flatts is currently working on the follow-up to Rewind. They’re also preparing to launch their Rhythm & Roots Tour on June 17th.

Joe Don Rooney – “Well, it’s crazy ‘cause this album’s been out for a couple a years, but it’s like the album won’t stop. We keep on goin’ back to the drawin’ board and goin’, what else can we put out that might work. ‘I Like the Sound of That’ is one of the first songs we put on hold, one of the first songs we recorded and just has a life to it and we knew it had to be heard at some point, it just, it was the perfect timing for, I think, the perfect song to kind of rejuvenate Rascal Flatts a little bit. A little shot in the arm when we needed it, honestly. The fans have not stopped, country radio hasn’t stopped, it’s incredible.”
