It was about a year ago that Jennifer Nettles stepped into the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago. She loved the experience so much that she says, “I have thoughts of other Broadway projects that I’m sniffing around and want to get in to.”
The one thing about Broadway is that projects tend to be cast and planned long in advance of them ever actually debuting on the stage because of the time it takes to produce them and find an available theater to put them in. “It’s a bit of a dance that they have to do,” says Jennifer, “so consequently they start planning very far out. And so I know of projects now that will be happening in the next couple of years supposedly, assuming they can get a theatre, that I would love to be a part of. So I’m already starting to put my wish list in for those things.”
In the meantime, Jennifer is focusing on promoting her latest single, “Unlove You,” off her brand new album, Playing with Fire.

Jennifer Nettles – another Broadway project :44
“I have thoughts of other Broadway projects that I’m sniffing around and want to get in to. You know, the interesting thing about that world in theatre is the amount of time that it takes to get a show actually in a theatre and on a stage. And I don’t mean just from a production standpoint, but I mean just the cycle of waiting on a theatre even for a show to possibly get in to. So, it’s a bit of a dance that they have to do, so consequently they start planning very far out. And so I know of projects now that will be happening in the next couple of years supposedly, assuming they can get a theatre, that I would love to be a part of. So I’m already starting to put my wish list in for those things.”
