(AUDIO) ELI YOUNG BAND JOKES THEY WERE MUCH WILDER IN THEIR YOUNGER DAYS

The Eli Young Band has been together and been touring the country for over 15 years.  These days they’re a bunch of pretty mellow married guys with families when they’re on the road, but back in their younger days they joke there may be a small handful of clubs they played back in the day that they may have been banned from.  Mike Eli jokes, “I think it’s more of the bad hotels that we’ve gotten banned from, more so than the actual clubs.  There were a couple of towns maybe we’re not allowed to stay in a few of the hotels in that town.”

Perhaps feeling a bit of a guilty conscience, Jon Jones wondered why Mike looked at him when he said that.  If anything, Jon says any bad behavior in the early days, “I would blame the whiskey, for sure.”

While we’re fairly certain they’ve never been banned from anywhere, fortunately, any bad, ban-worthy behavior is way in the Eli Young Band’s past.  These days they’re behaving themselves pretty well as they tour throughout the summer promoting their brand new single, “Saltwater Gospel.”

Eli Young Band – banned from hotels  :23

Mike Eli – (all laugh) “Small handful, probably.  Yeah, I think it’s more of the bad hotels that we’ve gotten banned from, more so than the actually clubs.  There were a couple of towns maybe we’re not allowed to stay in a few of the hotels in that town.”

Jon Jones – “Why are you looking at me, Mike?”

Mike – “I’m not saying it was your fault, but … I just happened to look at you.”

Jon – “I would blame the whiskey, for sure.”
