Martina McBride’s latest album, featuring her new single, “Just Around the Corner,” is called Reckless, and when it comes to her own personality, she says, “You know, I feel like I over-think things usually. I’m very methodical and I think of all the possible outcomes. But then at the end of the day, I make a decision based really on what feels right for me, what my gut instinct is. So that sometimes can be reckless because it doesn’t always make everybody happy, and that’s something I struggle with.”
While Martina often likes to go with her gut on important decisions, there’s another part of her personality that often dictates her choices. She says, “I’m really sort of a pleaser, you know, to some extent. And so, I grew up kind of like that, and it’s been in the past maybe five years that I’ve worked really hard to realize that you can’t please everybody all the time. So at the end of the day, you have to be able to stand behind what you do and feel good about it.”
One thing Martina hasn’t been reckless about is her career. She has continued to turn out great albums, like Reckless, and continues to tour all over the country, much to the thrill of all her fans.
