Not only is Drake White soaking up a lot of musical knowledge on the Black Out the Sun Tour with Zac Brown Band, but he’s also taking notes on how to run his business. Zac Brown Band is known for in-housing as much of their business as possible, from making music to creating merchandise and even building their own tour buses, and Drake thinks it makes perfect business sense. He says, “I believe that the entrepreneurial spirit in me says to go and anybody that’s making money off of you, in-house it. Put it in house, where it makes sense, let me say that. So, to watch Zac and what Zac’s been able to do with his innovation through merchandising. Merchandising’s a big thing, and the more knowledge I can get from Zac in how to run my business, the cleaner my business is gonna be run and the better steward I’m gonna be able to be of my money.”
Drake’s aspiration to be a smarter businessman and make more money is not about getting rich for the sake of getting rich. He says, “Money’s not happiness, but money buys, you know, can get you into a place to where you can have that leverage to really, really explode your big goals and my big goal is to influence the world with music, is to influence people and to go out and educate people on how they can follow their dreams and chase their dreams and through camps and through experiences like that.
Drake’s latest single is called “Livin’ the Dream,” and one of his dreams, similar to Zac Brown, is to open a camp for kids, only his camp would focus on helping kids realize their talents and their potential and give them the encouragement and the guidance to follow their passions and their dreams in life.
