Trent Harmon has been on the road non-stop promoting his latest single, “There’s A Girl,” which is a good thing, but not when it comes to trying to write for his debut album. According to Trent, “I would have to say that it is hard to write on the road. If nothing else, you’re on a bus or you’re at a concert venue, you know, a couple hours in advance and you think hey, I’m gonna sit down and go get in a quiet room and try to make it happen. All you’re thinking about is man, I’ve got an hour and a half set, or I’ve gotta go be at the next place, or we’ve gotta be 600 miles from here in 6 hours or something crazy, but I usually write better when I have downtime because that’s when you can decompress and your thoughts come out through your pen.”
Hopefully, as the year begins to wind down, Trent will find some quiet time off the road to be creative for his debut album, which he’ll release some time in 2017.
