(AUDIO) RASCAL FLATTS FOUND NEW MEANING AND APPRECIATION FOR CHRISTMAS CLASSICS

Rascal Flatts will released their first Christmas album this week, and Gary LeVox says the recording process helped give him new understanding and appreciation for some of the holiday classics they recorded.  He says, “For me, most of them did. You know, cause we’re talking about classics that you’ve heard and lived with since we were little, you know. They’re just ideas when you kinda go in there, and some of the arrangements were just masterpieces of their own. You know, just the way that they were written and the instrumental stuff.”

Digging into the songs to put their own Rascal Flatts spin on them, Gary says, “Every song was just kinda like, it really blew me away and took us somewhere else, I think, that we didn’t even know where we could take something. You know, it’s hard to redo something that’s been redone over and over and over again. I think we set out to do that and I think we accomplished it.”

Rascal Flatts’ The Greatest Gift of All will be available this Friday, October 21st.

Rascal Flatts – real meanings of Christmas songs  :33

Gary LeVox – “For me, most of them did. You know, cause we’re talking about classics that you’ve heard and lived with since we were little, you know. They’re just ideas when you kinda go in there, and some of the arrangements were just masterpieces of their own. You know, just the way that they were written and the instrumental stuff. So it was just really a feeling out process. So every song was just kinda like it really blew me away and took us somewhere else, I think, that we didn’t even know where we could take something. You know, it’s hard to redo something that’s been redone over and over and over again. I think we set out to do that and I think we accomplished it.”
