(AUDIO) RASCAL FLATTS OFFER POWERFUL A CAPPELLA PERFORMANCE ON THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL

Rascal Flatts just released their new Christmas album, The Greatest Gift of All, and one of the stand out tracks on the album is an a cappella version of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”  Joe Don Rooney says, “It’s always fun to do something a cappella for us. You know, ‘Hark the Herald Angels [Sing]’ is a really unique spin on that.”

Besides the three voices of Rascal Flatts, the guys added something special to the track by inviting the choir for Lee University to sing with them.  According to Joe Don, “Jay went to Lee University down in Cleveland, Tennessee where he was part of a singing group there many years ago. He still stays in touch with the voice instructor down at the school and was able to bring that choir in to sing on that with us. It’s just very powerful. It’s really hauntingly like throwback 50s-ish in a way to me when I listen to that. When they come in behind us, it’s just so wonderful.”

In addition to “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” The Greatest Gift of All features other holiday classics like “Joy to the World,” “O Holy Night” and “Let It Snow,” as well as a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas” and 4Him’s “A Strange Way to Save the World.”
