(AUDIO) TRENT HARMON IS LOOKING TO BEAT EVEN HIMSELF ON HIS DEBUT ALBUM

Trent Harmon is working on his debut album, which he’ll release later this year and he says, “We are plugging away. We’re going to be recording again in about two weeks. We’ve been kind of recording in chunks of three. So right now I think we have six or seven songs done.  On the next one we’ll have 10 songs done and that’s getting pretty close to the end of it.”

Trent is still in the process of picking songs and writing songs, and he says, “I put several songs on hold that were outside songs that were pitched to me but every day we write and I write on my own even when I don’t have a co-write to try and beat those songs because why not have one of your own songs on a record rather than one that you don’t own? And I’m just being really, really selective with them even with my own songs. I try to underwhelm rather than get excited about one.  I’m like, ‘Ehhh, I think we can beat it.’ You know no matter how good it is, I always say, ‘Ehhh, I’ve heard better.’ Even if I wrote the song, you know, ‘I’ve heard better than that.’”

One song that Trent co-wrote that we know will be on the album is his latest top 20 single, “There’s A Girl.”
