A Thousand Horses new single, “Preachin’ to the Choir,” is the first song the group has recorded and released that was not written by members of the group. Michael Hobby says, “Yeah it is the first outside song that we recorded but it was written by some really good friends of ours, The Warren Brothers and Morgan Wallen and Heather Morgan. And we’ve been writing with those guys for years, and you know, Brett Warren sent it to us one night and said, ‘Man I really feel like this song is you guys. Check it out, you know, let me know.’ And as soon as we listen to it, the first word, you know, ‘I’m either all in or all out,’ we’re like, ‘Man, this is totally A Thousand Horses and what we’re about.’”
By the time they heard the whole song through, A Thousand Horses knew they had to record it. Michael says, “It’s just a song that speaks to us, you know, and it sounds like us and it speaks to our fans and, you know, we are those ‘all in, all out’ kind of people. You know, you work hard, you play hard and you love hard and you kind of do your thing. So we couldn’t be more excited about it and grateful that they sent it to us.”
