Florida Georgia Line heads into Sunday night’s ACM Awards with five nominations, including Vocal Event, Single, Vocal Duo, Album and Entertainer of the Year. While Brian and Tyler are extremely grateful for all of their nominations, they admit there’s something extra special about Entertainer and Album of the Year.
This is FGL’s second nomination for ACM Entertainer of the Year, and Tyler says, “It feels great, I mean it’s very humbling. You look at the rest of the nominees and it’s just mind blowing that we’re in that category with those artists and it’s motivating as well. I think it’s gonna be a big night for us, but even if we don’t take that one home it’s still motivating, regardless, for us to get back out there and work hard and try to be the Entertainer of the Year regardless of what happens that night.”
As for having their latest album, Dig Your Roots, nominated for Album of the Year, Brian says, “Our albums are like our babies, you know, they’re our lives, they’re our projects. It’s a work of art for us. It takes a lot to get those done. We’ve put everything that we have into those. So I think for this year, Dig Your Roots, you know it took us a while to make our third record and we really, really just took our time and just pushed and wrote and had some really good songs come in, some really cool collaborations, and at the same time, just continued to stay ourselves but push the boundaries. And I think it’s cool to be recognized for that.”
Florida Georgia Line will perform their latest single, “God, Your Mama and Me” with the Backstreet Boys, on the ACM Awards, which will air live from Las Vegas, this coming Sunday night on CBS. Plus, the night before the awards, Florida Georgia Line will be headlining the ACM Party for a Cause: WME Bash at the Beach at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino with Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Chris Lane, Tucker Beathard and more.
