Some artists like to spend as little time as possible on their bus when they’re stopped in a city for a tour stop. They’ll find ways to get out and either work out, explore the city or whatever they can do to get a little time outside of their home on wheels, but Brantley Gilbert says, “Anybody that’s been on the road with me will tell you I’m a bus body. You know, you’ve got home bodies, I’m a bus body and I spend a lot of time on my bus.”
Brantley explains that a lot of it has to do with who’s on the road with him and the amount of energy he knows he’s going to expend that night when he performs. “If my wife’s out there I’m hanging out with her. If my wife’s not out there, I write. There’s usually somebody out on the road that’ll come up and hang. But for our shows to be as chaotic as they are, I have to be responsible for a lot of that mayhem, and for that to happen I’ve got to have some time during the day just to be still.”
Brantley’s latest single, “The Weekend,” just broke into the top 10 on the charts and is continuing to climb toward the top.

Brantley Gilbert – bus body :28
“Anybody that’s been on the road with me will tell you I’m a bus body. You know, you’ve got home bodies, I’m a bus body and I spend a lot of time on my bus. Reason being, if my wife’s out there I’m hanging out with her. If my wife’s not out there, I write. There’s usually somebody out on the road that’ll come up and hang. But for our shows to be as chaotic as they are, I have to be responsible for a lot of that mayhem, and for that to happen I’ve got to have some time during the day just to be still.”
