Brantley Gilbert always says that his albums are chapters of his life, so sometimes it bums him out that it’s become more popular for people to buy individual songs instead of albums. He says, “In a day and age where it is, you know Steve Jobs came through and sold some iPods and made it available for folks to just buy one song. And you know I do think that’s sad in a lot of ways because I know there’s a lot of artists out there like me that do write stories, they write records and they write albums. But you know it is what it is, the business is what it is and we’re blessed to have the following we have.”
That being said, Brantley is also thankful that his fan base is unique in that they still buy physical CD’s. He says, “That’s the most popular thing with our following right now is the actual physical record with the CD itself and the inserts and the whole nine. They still buy that. And you know that’s a pride point for me and for my whole organization that we’re doing something right. We’re writing stories.”
Brantley’s latest story is The Devil Don’t Sleep, featuring Brantley’s latest top ten song, “The Weekend.”
