(AUDIO) THE LADY ANTEBELLUM TOUR IS A BIT OF A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT FOR BRETT YOUNG

Brett Young will join Lady Antebellum for their You Look Good Tour, which also features Kelsea Ballerini, this Thursday, when it kicks off in Bakersfield, California.  Brett is very excited to be part of the tour, which in some ways is a bit of a full circle moment for him.  Brett explains, “When I first started kind of messing with the idea of taking what I did as a singer songwriter and calling it country music, which you know is a funny thing anyways because singer songwriters that isn’t a genre as much as we want to call it that. And so the first thing I started doing was, well I should put out some covers of some country music because that’s all I listened to and people are used to hearing me and my guitar. I’m going to show them this is who I am and the first like two or three were Lady Antebellum covers.  And so kind of a full circle thing, you know.”

Brett is looking forward to getting to know Lady A and Kelsea better and he’s also looking forward to being able to expose his music, like his latest single, “In Case You Didn’t Know,” to new audiences.  He says, “To actually get to now go out and be on the road and share the stage with them, and then obviously it goes without saying that Kelsea is on fire right now.  And so she’s got a great young fan base and so it’ll be really fun to get to go share my music in front of them, and like I said, just get to know everybody.”

“That was a really, really exciting phone call to get. When I first started kind of messing with the idea of taking what I did as a singer songwriter and calling it country music, which you know is a funny thing anyways because singer songwriters that isn’t a genre as much as we want to call it that. And so the first thing I started doing was, well I should put out some covers of some country music because that’s all I listened to and people are used to hearing me and my guitar. I’m going to show them this is who I am and the first like two or three were Lady Antebellum covers.  And so kind of a full circle thing, you know.  Since then Charles, his brother Josh is somebody that I’ve gotten to know and started to write with. And so I played a charity last year that Hillary Scott’s very involved with and I’ve slowly gotten to know them personally. So to actually get to now go out and be on the road and share the stage with them, and then obviously it goes without saying that Kelsea is on fire right now.  And so she’s got a great young fan base and so it’ll be really fun to get to go share my music in front of them, and like I said, just get to know everybody.”
