When Carly Pearce wrote he debut single, “Every Little Thing,” about a deeply painful break-up that happened several years ago, she had no idea that she would eventually be sharing the song with the world. Carly says, “I wrote this song thinking that nobody would ever hear it. And my producer busbee and I had a listening party for some people in the industry and one of the guys fell in love with it and before I knew it he was like, ‘I want this song on the radio now. This is your song, this is it.’”
At first Carly resisted letting it go because she says, “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is such a personal story, there’s no way.’ But I let him have it, and immediately, I’ve said it before, it really did have a mind of its own and just kind of sprouted wings and made me realize how much country music really is about the lyric and is about the truth of the song.”
So now, not only is Carly sharing that deeply personal story from her past with country music fans, she’s working on her debut album, which will feature even more of her personal truths, to release later this year.
