Thomas Rhett returns for a second year to co-host the ABC CMA Fest television special this week. This year his co-host is his good friend Kelsea Ballerini, and Thomas is excited to show people how his hosting skills have improved since last year. He says, “I think last year obviously it was my first time ever hosting anything and so I think any time you do something for the first time you’re always going to have some hiccups every now and then. But I feel like this year I just have been more of a, this sounds dumb, but just a smoother reader, more energy. I started to learn how to kind of host something I guess.”
Thomas thinks his performance this year will also be even better because he was able to be more immersed in the entire process. During filming he said, “This year I get to be here like every single day and get to watch all the shows and get to like hang with the artists before they go on stage. So I think just having that makes me more prepared this year than last year.”

So I think just having that makes me more prepared this year than last year.”
