Carly Pearce wrote her debut single, “Every Little Thing,” from a place of deep personal hurt and heartbreak after she was dumped by a boyfriend several years ago. Whether it was going into the studio to record the song, or singing it every night on stage, it would seem like it would be difficult to constantly revisit those emotions, but Carly says, “I think it’s always difficult to go back and feel things that were traumatic at a time. I think also to get into the mindset, recording it to where the delivery of it was correct for the song. But as people and especially as artists we are here to emote and to connect and I think if I can do it correctly and really channel in my story that’s the most authentic that I can be. If I can bleed truth then it’s gonna translate.”
The song has definitely translated, as fans have pushed it into the top 15 on the charts. “Every Little Thing” is the title track off Carly’s debut album, which will be out on October 13th.
