Brantley Gilbert’s fans are known for being very loyal and very passionate, to the point that it might be intimidating for some acts to try to open for him on his tours. Brantley recalls one time he had someone in mind to open and they extended the invitation. He says, “I think there was a verbal mention and I think the candy ass dropped cause they’re scared. People have this thing that they think that our crowd is going to like tar and feather them in public if they don’t like ‘em which isn’t the case.”
Brantley jokes that if someone gets on stage that his fans don’t like, they might boo them a little, but in all seriousness, “The Ones That Like Me” singer says, “It’s when guys get in front of them and do their damn thing. It’s when they get out there and say, ‘Alright, it is what it is, I’m about to show you what I’ve got. I’m gonna leave it out there whether you like it or not.’ They eat it up! You know they may rag ‘em a little bit, but they’ll respect ‘em.”
Two guys who aren’t afraid to take on Brantley’s loyal fan base are Tyler Farr and Luke Combs, who are out on the road opening for him on his The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour.
