Thomas Rhett’s latest single off his brand new album, Life Changes, is “Unforgettable.” While many of the songs on his album are deeply personal and inspired by Thomas’ real life, this one isn’t really one of those songs, since Thomas and Lauren have known each other since grade school. He explains, “Not really super personal to me and Lauren’s story but we basically kind of made up this story of this husband is telling his wife I remember every single detail about that night, what you were drinking, what song you were singing, what shoes you were wearing.”
As for the groove of the highly infectious song, Thomas says, “I was on the bus writing with Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally and for some reason we were playing like Latin beat songs and I was like, ‘Ashley can you play something along these lines?’ And Ashley started playing, it was kind of this progression, it’s like dun dun DUN dun. And we started to do this kind of like Latin flow over the song and it basically describes this night of when a husband and wife met each other.”
With so many incredible songs to choose from on his new album, Thomas says, “Did not think it was going to be the second single off this project but it is and I’m really excited about it.”
