Thomas Rhett will open a pop up clothing shop in Los Angeles this Friday through Sunday, featuring a limited collection of apparel and hats that he collaborated with designer Daniel Patrick on called Daniel Patrick x Thomas Rhett. Daniel is known for designing street wear that is worn by stars like Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar and others, so Thomas laughs and says, “I think him and his wife probably think I’m a little bit crazy for wanting to do this because I think they thought how would anyone in the country world wear our version of street wear. It really is like the only stuff that I wear. I wear it on stage, like I wear the shoes. And so we’ve been talking about doing a collaboration for a while. And it’s just really interesting to get involved in the fashion world and also be a country singer cause a lot of people would think you know that doesn’t really add up, like why would you do that? But I’ve loved fashion ever since I was a teenager.”
Besides the Daniel Patrick x Thomas Rhett pieces, the pop up shop will also include two New Era hats featuring Thomas’ Home Team Logo, plus a one-off vintage T-shirt from MadeWorn and several pieces designed by Thomas’ stylist, Kemal Harris, who also works on the television show, House of Cards.
For those of us who can’t get to Los Angeles for the pop up shop, Thomas says, “When we do this pop up store it will be the first time, but you know a lot of this stuff will actually be available on the actual whole tour in the fall and then on into spring… I think it’s going to really show a whole different side of me to my fans. And you know hopefully this leads to a lot of really cool things in the future as well.”

“You know over the last two years I’ve seen a bunch of like artists in the pop and hip hop world do pop up shops all over the place, whether it was like Justin Bieber or Drake doin’ it or Guns N Roses doing a pop up store. I haven’t really seen anyone in our genre do that and I’ve always loved fashion and I’ve always loved music and I think this is a really cool way to combine the both of them. And I was doing a fitting out in L.A. for a bunch of promo stuff and I just noticed that everything I was pulling off the rack was stuff that was made by this designer Daniel Patrick. And up to this point I had never met the designer in my whole life. And so my stylist, Kemal Harris, reached out to Daniel and kind of set up a meeting with us and I went out at his warehouse out in L.A. and you know got to shop around and got to really get to know his background and his story. And I think him and his wife probably think I’m a little bit crazy for wanting to do this because I think they thought how would anyone in the country world wear our version of street wear. But I’ve loved fashion ever since I was a teenager. So to be able to get to work with someone who is having so much success in the fashion world out in L.A. it’s just really cool to kind of get to collaborate with somebody and kind of get to make a custom piece to be available at a pop up store. I think it’s going to really show a whole different side of me to my fans. And you know hopefully this leads to a lot of really cool things in the future as well.”
Thomas Rhett – fashion in the future :51 (phone quality)
“I’m like freakishly involved in my merch. I’m always thinking of different ways to be a little bit more fashion forward than just putting out a face T or just putting out a shirt with the tour dates. So as we go into this fall like this is definitely more the most fashion forward merch that we’ve ever created, kind of just based on what is popular today as far as like street wear and fashion goes. And so when we do this pop up store it will be the first time, but you know a lot of this stuff will actually be available on the actual whole tour in the fall and then on into spring. So definitely something that I hope we can continue to collaborate with people on because as fun as it is to collaborate in music it’s also such a blast to put two kind of, you know artists’ brains together and develop something as far as like a shoe or a pair of sweatpants or a hoodie or a windbreaker, and kind of getting’ to let both artists put touches on what that is. I think it’s just super fun and something that I hope to get way more involved in, in the future.”
