Thomas Rhett is out on the road finishing up his Home Team Tour for 2017 and he and his band have come up with a way to bond before they take the stage every night. He says, “This past year the band and I started this thing where we would go to the dressing room like 45 minutes before the show started and there would be a new person every night, they would have to pick the music that we played and kind of got warmed up to.”
Thomas admits that the preshow music ritual is good for the most part, but there are some nights when it’s not so great. “Some nights it was pretty miserable listening to what other people had to play but other nights it was great and it was just a good way for me and the band to kind of just connect before we go on stage together, because there’s a lot of the time where, you know, I’m busy doing stuff and they’re busy doing stuff and we don’t get to see each other until show time. I mean it takes us a minute to kind of get into the groove and so we incorporated that last year and it helped us a bunch.”
The North American portion of Thomas’ Home Team Tour will run through the end of the month, before the “Unforgettable” singer heads to the UK for five shows to close out the year.

I mean it takes us a minute to kind of get into the groove and so we incorporated that last year and it helped us a bunch. And one thing that I noticed that Jason Aldean did on the road, was that his band and him had dinner together every day at five o’clock no matter what. And I just think it’s good to be able to catch up with the guys you’re about to get play a show with and I would love to incorporate that as a ritual for sure.”
