(AUDIO) FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE LOVES BEING ARTISTS WHO ALSO WRITE SONGS FOR OTHER PEOPLE

Florida Georgia Line writes a lot of their own songs that they record, but they also love being able to write songs for other artists to record.  They recently celebrated a #1 hit with Jason Aldean for co-writing “Lights Come On,” which some people might wonder why they didn’t keep for themselves.  Brian Kelley explains, “I think it’s kind of a feel thing. Same thing with ‘Burning it Down,’ you know we were lucky enough to be a part of writing that song and I don’t know it’s just one of those things. We kind of have a good radar, a good feel, for what’s FGL and what’s not, and what’s still kind of good and maybe for somebody else.  And we kind of like being on both ends of it. We love being artists, songwriters, and also being able to pitch a song to a friend and it’s cool to see a song really end up where it should.”

An example of a song Florida Georgia Line wrote that they knew they had to keep to record for their own album, is their latest single, “Smooth,” which they co-wrote with Nicolle Galyon and Jordan Schmidt.
