Five years ago, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush decided to take a break from their duo, Sugarland, to pursue solo music projects, but now they are returning with a brand new single, “Still the Same,” which will be released on December 21st, and they’ll be celebrating their return in Times Square on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2018 with Ryan Seacrest.
Jennifer recalls, “The last time we were together with a band as a duo, I was going into my third trimester of pregnancy (with her son Magnus, who just turned five on December 6th).
So now, getting to make their return to the stage as part of an iconic celebration on such a huge night, Jennifer says, “I think it will be exciting and it will be heightened and I think it will be appropriate that there can be this beautiful marked ritual moment of a new year happening, with a new us coming back onto the stage reminding you of the music that you know and love and also celebrating and introducing you to what’s to come.”
You’ll be able to see Sugarland’s first live performance in five years on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2018 with Ryan Seacrest, December 31st at 8PM EST on ABC.
