(AUDIO) THERE WAS NO ‘FLASH OF LIGHT’ BEFORE SUGARLAND’S NEW MUSIC

When Sugarland announced they were releasing their new song, “Still the Same,” with plans to follow it up with a new tour and a new album, some people wondered what the catalyst was for them getting back together to make new music, after a five year hiatus focused on solo projects.  Kristian Bush says, “The stars started the line-up and politically, geopolitically, we decided maybe something needed to happen.”

In simpler terms, Jennifer Nettles says, “I mean there really wasn’t like this big come to Jesus moment, I don’t think.  But look, I think that’s also because there was never a come to Jesus moment of saying [we’re gonna take a break].  We’ve always known that we would do this whenever we felt the time was right.”

Jennifer also feels that their fans knew one day they’d record together again when the time was right.  She says, “Even as we left it with our fans, it was like, we’re going to do other things. And one day, as, and if the time is right, we will come back and do this so there didn’t have to be a big flash of light. It was just like, “ok.”

So now “Still the Same” is climbing the charts, the Still the Same Tour will kick off on May 25th and Sugarland is busy working on their new album to release later this year.
